Jason Rogers, PhD
Principal, Human Factors Engineer

Dr. Jason Rogers is a highly experienced research psychologist specializing in cognition and visual perception as it applies to the human factors domain.  At RED Group International, he utilizes his considerable skills to guide the development, planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting of research projects. Jason is pragmatic and a self-professed “geek.”  He excels at applying his substantial theoretical knowledge to a real-world context.

Jason has consulted on a variety of medical device human factors projects, and worked with the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Civil Aerospace Medical Institute, Human Factors Research Division where he worked on pilot cognitive workload and flight system interface technologies to improve the safety of small aircraft.  He has worked with the Air Force Research Laboratory on multiple projects, including artificial intelligence, and helmet-mounted display technologies.  Additionally, at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the Human Factors Research Division, he studied spatial awareness and gravitational-induced limits of human performance. 

Jason’s academic positions include the State University of New York Institute of Technology, Gonzaga University, and San Jose State University, and is currently the chair of the Psychology and Human Factors programs at Greensboro College.  Jason has an extensive publishing background of proceeding papers, conference presentations, abstracts, technical reports, and refereed journal publications.

Dr. Rogers holds a Doctorate in Psychology with a heavy emphasis in visual neuroscience and cognition.

Deirdre Sommerlad-Rogers, PhD
Principal, Research Design and Statistician

Dr. Deirdre Sommerlad-Rogers comes to RED Group International as a multi-faceted researcher in sociology with a broad range of knowledge around social interactions and human interaction.  She is a recognized expert in qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as advance statistical analysis. She had worked on both applied and theoretically oriented research, creating a strong foundation in applying theory to real world experiences. 

Deirdre has been a devoted educator for more than 15 years. She mentors honors and graduate students on a wide variety of topics, helping them to achieve their highest potential. Deidre is currently a professor and the chair of the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department at Greensboro College. She is also a professor in the Department of Ministry, Advocacy and Leadership at Cherry Hill Seminary and a dissertation consultant for The Dissertation Coach. Previous academic positions include assistant professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Science at the State University of New York Institute of Technology, and assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Justice Studies at the University of Idaho. 

Dr. Sommerlad-Rogers holds a Doctorate in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology, with minors in Women’s Studies and Social Psychology.

Felicia Hirning MS, RD, RN
Associate

Felicia Hirning comes to RED Group International as a well-respected clinical educator who blends innovative medical device teaching and training experience with strong clinical skills. Felicia is a top-performing and dedicated medical professional who sets high standards for herself and others. Felicia approaches her work with expertise and an intuitive sense of what clients are looking for in device development and utilization.

As a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN), Felicia has accumulated detailed experience in specialty IV infusion covering Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Disease.  She holds certifications in pediatrics, advanced life support, and advanced cardiac life support.  She has clinical experience in both hospital (including critical and surgical care units), and home care. For six years, Felicia integrated her experience in nursing with specialty pharmaceutical infusion sales and devices in her role as faculty and chair of the Dietetic Technology Program at Dutchess Community College.

Ms. Hirning holds a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, and is a Registered Dietician Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She is also a Licensed Registered Nurse.

Ray West, MBA, ABA, CAPM
Associate Director, Quality Assurance

Ray West is a forward-thinking, and dynamic project and business professional with the proven ability to lead teams and tackle organization-wide complex projects with innovative techniques. He has demonstrated expertise in contract terms, negotiation and review. Ray is also proficient in cost and budget management and risk analysis.

As Associate Director of Quality Assurance at RED Group International, Ray is responsible for our Quality Management System (QMS), and is leading the way for our ISO 9001:2015 certification. He reviews all contracts, and project schedules to ensure conformance with our Quality Systems. He assists with human factors test plans, product evaluation, and validation testing, and reporting.

Mr. West holds an International Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Sustainability & Environmental Compliance, and a BA in Psychology. He is ABA (American Bar Association) Certified as a Paralegal Business Specialist and is also a Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM). Currently, Ray is working to achieve advanced certification in Project Management (ACPM) from San Diego State College of Extended Studies, and is pursuing additional professional training in the UCSD-Extension’s Clinical Trials Program.

Lisa Beavers
Senior Quality Assurance Editor

Lisa Beavers is a natural wordsmith.  With every editing project, she approaches her work with the intent to produce a superior product. Lisa has a sharp eye for detail, with a focus on clarity, consistency, and logic. As Senior Quality Assurance Editor at RED Group International, her purpose is to ensure excellence with the quality of all written materials produced by the company.

Utilizing over 30 years of diverse business experience, Lisa has developed her copyediting skills through responsibilities as a senior administrative assistant, executive assistant, and marketing coordinator. At her most recent position, Lisa was responsible for preparing and editing proposals, leases, and purchase agreements, as well as a variety of marketing materials. A versatile editor, she has copyedited novels, short stories, contracts, employee handbooks, resumes, website content and technical reports.

Ms. Beavers holds a Bachelor of Arts, and a Certificate of Copyediting.  She holds professional memberships with the American Copy Editors Society (ACES), and Publishers and Writers San Diego (PWSD).
